Five persons have been arrested in connection to the murder of Colonel Jose Amado Gonzalez Gonzalez while the police found the vehicle used by the criminals who shot him 13 times.
According to the police report, the vehicle (license plate OE 00234) did not belong to the National Army but to Janes Villa, a cover company connected to the criminal network headed by Puerto Rican fugitive Jose David Figueroa Agosto.
The report, which concluded the investigations are in an advanced phase, was the result of a four hour meeting yestarday among Justice minister Radhamés Jiménez, National Police chief Major General Rafael Guillermo Guzman Fermin, Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) chief Rolando Rosado, and National District prosecutor Alejandro Moscoso.
Gonzalez, 40, received 13 bullet wounds –four of them to the head– last 24 December while heading to his residence in Torre Serena, on Anacaona Avenue #67, a property that belonged to him and his wife Madelin Bernard. The District Attorney and the DNCD were investigating him due to alleged links to Figueroa Agosto.
National Police chief Guzman Fermin highlighted the fact that Gonzalez’s death was something to be expected, for “similar events tend to occur in countries that have declared war on drug trafficking and organized crime.”

You have to be kidding me!!! To be expected because we are involved in a war on drugs and organized crime. Everyone thinks he was murdered because he was deeply involved in organized crime and drug trafficking.
We have entered the “Spin Zone”

What was with the other article on Saturday? “Colonel’s murder is a challenge for Dominican police”
Must have been police.
The “expected” comment was insane. If they expected it, they may have saved this guys life and gotten more information. But, they chose to let him get killed.

They let him get killed because dead men don’t talk. His list of names probably went high up in the echelons of government.

Gringo, you are right on the money ! The PN Chief Guzman Fermin is LF’s “YES” man. He does whatever the boss wants.I wouldnt be surprised to see a couple other Cols or Gens go down in the same fashion as Gonzales did on Christmas eve. Perhaps his widow will need protection now (as she may know whos on that list). BTW, when is Dia de los Reyes?

This does raise a lot of unanswered questions!
If it was expected he could be killed why wasn’t he given protection?
Who are these 5 people arrested?
How was the car found and traced back to the killers and how could an offical car be registered to a private company?
How were the 5 people traced
Was the four hour meeting just to decide which and how many “stooges” should be implicated and what have they been offered to “take the rap” leaving the real killers or their bosses free and clear?

Spin Zone?? You got that right.
The apartment complex where he lived he could not have been able to afford it on 4 TIMES his salary. Got any idea what an apartment there goes for???
My opinion is he was up to his neck in the trade.

LOL — Left a car behind? No way…. This was obviously a set-up. Those poor saps probably didn’t have much or anything to do with it. This hit was probably ordered from someone way near the top IMHO.
